COVID-19 Management @ Kalpakkam
Guidelines for employees and residents of DAE Townships at Kalpakkam and Anupuram regarding COVID-19 Pandemic
In case, any of the beneficiary has COVID-19 like symptoms of ILI (Influenza Like Illness) and SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Illness) they shall immediately report to DAE Hospital at Kalpakkam or Anupuram for further medical management as per doctors’/physicians’ advice.
Fever Clinics are functional at DAE
Hospital at Kalpakkam and Anupuram Hospital from :
09.00 AM to 05.00 PM daily Fever Clinics

05.00 PM to 09.00 AM: visit Casualty facility at DAE Hospital at Kalpakkam or Anupuram hospital and follow the guidance given by doctor.
09:00 AM to 05:00 PM: Limited/ Selective OPD service with limited group of specialists.
24 x 7 Emergency and Casualty service available at both DAE Hospitals
CHSS beneficiaries can also send their message/query by email to hospital@igcar.gov.in and a copy to mspa@igcar.gov.in.
If any beneficiary is tested COVID-19 positive, the concerned administrative head WILL BE INFORMED FOR FACILITATING THE CONTACT TRACING. The beneficiary would be shifted based on advice from local State Govt. authorities to Quarantine Centre.
If any resident in a particular flat/building is identified as COVID-19 positive, the building will be sealed by the local State Govt. authorities. Movement of residents in and out from this containment area will be highly restricted.
On receipt of information about the COVID-19 positive case, local authorities and ESG, GSO will carry out sanitization of common areas in the contained area.
Beneficiaries are requested to visit the ‘COVID-19 Management @ Kalpakkam’ of IGCAR website periodically and to follow the latest instructions. The Medical Division would be sharing important information including audio and video instructions about COVID-19 at this website.
If non-CHSS-beneficiary family member is tested positive Head, Medical Division should be intimated immediately.
If any resident is Home Quarantined suspecting him/her to be a COVID-19 case, the respective associations/ divisions /units /colleagues of the group or the other residents in the neighborhood are requested to help the quarantined family to meet essential needs from outside.
Sealed condition in the containment area will continue until clearance is obtained from the local State Govt. authorities.
The residents of DAE Township at Kalpakkam and Anupuram Township are requested to follow the COVID-19 related guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time. All are also encouraged to go through COVID KATHA – A multimedia guide for mass awareness brought out by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the COVID-19 related materials by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
Residents are requested to remain indoors and minimize their movement only for the essential needs.
The norms of social distancing should strictly be followed. Wearing of face mask is mandatory while moving outside the residence.
Going out of the townships should be avoided as far as possible.
Registering in Aarogya Setu is mandatory for all employees.
It is mandatory to declare and visit the FEVER CLINIC for the relatives arriving home at the Townships, from outside state / country.
For domestic helpers, ensure their health condition and enquire about their family contact related to COVID-19
Ensure special care to senior citizens, children below 10 years and persons with respiratory illness.
Vegetables and fruits to be washed properly before use.
Avoid visits to other house and visitors as far as possible.
Avoid spreading unconfirmed information about COVID-19 in social media.
Guidelines for testing cases
Considering the apprehensions of the employees and their family members in the wake of recent COVID-19cases in the townships and neighbourhood and requests for testing, it has been decided that DAE Hospital Kalpakkam would follow the Tamilnadu State Govt. Guidelines w.r.t strategy for COVID 19 testing. Wards, relatives and in some cases, employees, are coming from different districts/ states/ countries, and many queries have been received on testing and quarantine conditions. To address these apprehensions and queries, the extracts from the TN Health and Family Welfare Dept. GO.Ms.No.219 dt. 18.05.2020 and GO.Ms.No.252 dt.24.05.2020, (Guidelines for Domestic Air Passengers) is reproduced below for the benefit of employees and beneficiaries. Testing Strategies
All symptomatic (ILI symptoms) individuals with history of international travel in the last 14 days.
All symptomatic (ILI symptoms) contacts of laboratory confirmed cases.
All symptomatic (ILI symptoms) health care workers / frontline workers involved in containment and mitigation of COVID-19.
All patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).
Asymptomatic direct and high-risk contacts*(definition as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India is given below) of a confirmed case to be tested once between day 5 and day 10 of coming into contact.
All symptomatic ILI individuals within hotspots/containment zones.
All hospitalized patients who develop ILI symptoms.
All symptomatic ILI individuals among returnees and migrants within 7 days of illness.
N.B.:
ILI case is defined as one with acute respiratory infection with fever >380C & cough.
SARI case is defined as one with acute respiratory infection with fever >380C & cough and requiring hospitalization.
All testing in the above categories is recommended by real-time RT-PCR test only.
Testing Guidelines
Category A: Persons coming from other districts within Tamil Nadu
Category B: Persons coming from Other States /UTs
Category C: Persons coming from other Countries

Suspect
Anyone with acute respiratory illness {fever and at least one sign/symptom of
respiratory disease ( cough, difficulty in breathing),
AND
A
history of travel to or residence in a country/area or territory reporting local
transmission of COVID-19 disease during the 14 days prior to symptom onset;
OR
Anyone with any acute respiratory illness AND having been in contact with a
confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 14 days prior to onset of symptoms;
OR
Anyone with severe acute respiratory infection {fever and at least one
sign/symptom of respiratory disease (cough, difficulty in breathing} AND
requiring hospitalization;
OR
A
case for whom testing for COVID-19 is inconclusive. Laboratory Confirmed case: A
person with laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection, irrespective of
clinical signs and symptoms.
Contact
Staying in the same house without proper protection with COVID-19 patient
Staying in the same close environment as a COVID-19 patient (including
workplace, classroom, household, gatherings)
Travelling together in close proximity (less than 1 m) with a symptomatic person
who later tested positive for COVID-19
Person providing direct care to a COVID-19 patient The infection may have been
transferred within a 14 day period before the onset of illness in the case under
consideration
