  • Assembly, testing, calibration and deployment of Electrochemical Hydrogen Meters (ECHMs) and Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD) based hydrogen sensors for in-sodium and argon cover gas applications, large sodium facilities, FBTR and PFBR
  • Development of materials, methodologies for trace level gas sensing of hydrogen, NOx, NH3, halogens, methane, etc. and demonstration of their performance in industrial environments. Development and deployment of gas sensors for FBTR; Reprocessing streams and other allied facilities of DAE
  • Chemistry support for sampling of sodium and analysis of sodium of large sodium facilities, FBTR and PFBR
  • Development of device for in-sodium viewing. Patents filed for the technology
  • Development of sodium cleaning methodologies for various components from Fast Breeder Reactor systems
  • Development of catalyst materials (Pt based and non-platinum based) for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells for hydrogen mitigation in cold trap regeneration of fast reactors
  • Contact angle measurement of liquid sodium on structural materials ( D9, T91 clad etc)
  • Thermochemical and chemical interaction studies of liquid metals with structural materials, control rod materials and fission products at elevated temperatures
  • Controlled oxidation of U-Zr, U-Pu-Zr and Na bonded U-Zr fuel in the context of aqueous reprocessing of metal fuels
  • Development of ceramic (apatites, zeolites, etc.) and glass bonded ceramics for the immobilization of radio-nuclides and their chemical durability studies. Development of borosilicate and other glass matrices for immobilization of radionuclides
  • Thermo gravimetric studies of nuclear materials at elevated temperatures by TG-DTA technique & Thermochemical studies and phase diagrams of air and moisture sensitive systems for nuclear applications
