Estate Management

Estate Management Section is headed by Administrative Officer-III functioning as Estate Officer.

Estate Management Section is responsible for allotment of the quarters & allied works like recovery of licence fee, water charges & electrical, maintenance/monitoring the complaints with respect to provisions in the allotment rules & eviction activities etc.

The Kalpakkam Township is spread over 456 acres of land and Anupuram Township is spread over 383 acres of land.

The Atomic Energy Township, Kalpakkam, has been built for the employees working in Madras Atomic Power Station, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), General Services Organization (GSO), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Facilities (BARCF) etc., The Township is situated 80 Kms. south of Chennai on the coast of Bay of Bengal. About 27,000 residents hailing from all parts of India reside here and are provided with all amenities viz. schools, hospital, shopping complex and swimming pool etc.

Kalpakkam Township houses 4639 quarters whereas Anupuram Township which is 10 Kms. away from Kalpakkam houses 1211 quarters. There are 86 shops altogether in Kalpakkam & Anupuram Townships.

Apart from the above, subsidised office accommodations have been provided to Atomic Energy Employees Consumer Cooperative Stores & Department of Atomic Energy Employees Co-operative Thrift & Credit Society Limited which are being run for the welfare of the DAE Employees working in Kalpakkam.

Following Committees have been constituted under the Estate Management Wing.

ACCOMMODATION ALLOTMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AAAC)

This Committee mandate is to recommend allotment of quarters on out-of-turn basis on Hardship/Medical and Functional grounds within the frame work of the Allotment of Govt. Residences (DAE-Kalpakkam) Rules 1980.

TOWNSHIP AMENITIES COMMITTEE (TAC)

This Committee mandate is to provide & improve upon the amenities/facilities to the residents of the Townships at Kalpakkam & Anupuram.
