UV Sterilization System

The system offer solution for surface sterilisation of large volume goods as well as hand held luggages.
The system is capable of delivering UV fluence dose to the object by shining 254nm light and capable of delivering dose 90mJ/cm2

UV Tunnel System for Screening Bulk Inward Goods

This is a tunnel-like structure with 3 feet width x 6 feet length x 4 feet height for the disinfection of materials and goods. The items to be disinfected are carried on the trolley (manually)to the tunnel chamber for UVc exposure on all sides (except the bottom). UV-C 7 lamps, each with 36 Watts 254nm wavelength, arranged in 4 corners, two sides, and on top. The lamps can deliver UV-C light dose of 2-8 mW.s/cm2 to the recommended energy to disinfect the COVID-19 virus. The outer body is made of powder-coated mild steel with 40 mm square pipe structure and 1.6mm thick sheet metal covers. UVC tunnel inside surface is polished Stainless-steel structure made of SS304 metal sheet of 1.6mm thick. Manual ON/OFF switch control with interlocks to stop operation in case of any fault in the system. An electrically controlled digital timer is used to set UVC exposure time. Auto-switching OFF facility is made to put off UVC lights when not in use to reduce power consumption and increase the life of UVC light.

UV Conveyor System for Screening Handheld Luggage

UVC disinfection tunnel with motorized belt conveyer comprises of SS 304 reflective tunnel surface, aluminum profile, machine frame structure, motorized belt conveyor with geared motor, and electrical control panel. Total conveyor length: 1200 mm; UVC tunnel length: 500 mm; UVC lights on three sides: 12 Nos each of 450 mm length.

The UV sterilization system is developed as a need for screening bulk goods that are received and handled at the receipt section of stores and for hand luggage, which are contemporary with that of scanners at the air port.

Salient Features

These are environment-friendly and contact-free effective sanitization methods. The exposure period can be set for the required UV dose. The luggage scanner conveyor system can be employed for practical disinfection purpose without much time, i.e. it can be used as "on the go" mode.

Interested parties with Engineering & Scientific knowledge, good financial background and adequate experience of products manufacturing & fabrication with technical capability in the area of interested technology and having or interested in setting –up facilities for production would be preferred.

Send your Technology Transfer Application form duly filled and signed along with a Demand Draft/Bankers cheque of Rs. 500/- (for Indian entities) or US $50/- (for foreign entities) drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, IGCAR”  as application processing fee on following address:
